Putting the wrong fuel in is an easy mistake. What matters most is what you do next: the less the wrong fuel moves through the engine, the less damage it can do.
If you haven't started the engine, we can usually drain the tank and flush the system where the car is. If you've driven it, stop as soon as it's safe, switch off, and call us.

Broken down? Stay safe while you wait
- Switch on your hazard lights.
- On a motorway, leave by the left-hand doors and wait behind the barrier, away from traffic.

I've put the wrong fuel in. What should I do?
Don't start the engine or turn the ignition on. Put the car in neutral and push it somewhere safe if you can, then call us.
I've already driven it. Is that a problem?
Stop as soon as it's safe and switch off. The engine may need more work, and we can recover it to a garage if needed.
Can you drain the fuel where my car is?
Usually, yes, as long as it's safe to work there. On a busy road or motorway we may need to move the vehicle first.
Will my insurance cover wrong fuel?
Some policies do. Check with your insurer.
Do I need to bring my vehicle to you?
No. We're a fully mobile service with no garage to visit. We come to you at home, at work or at the roadside.
