Motorway breakdown recovery

Motorway breakdowns are dangerous because traffic doesn't slow down. Get safe first, then call us.

Motorway Breakdown Recovery

Motorway Breakdown Recovery

When you call, tell us the motorway, the direction and the nearest junction or marker post number. That's how we find you quickly.

Our recovery driver protects the scene with warning lights, assesses the vehicle and loads it where it's safe to do so. We take it off the motorway to a safe place, your home or your chosen garage. If National Highways or the police have already moved you somewhere safe, we collect from there.

What's included

  • Recovery from the hard shoulder or an emergency area
  • Taken to a safe place, your home or a garage
  • Tyre problems sorted once you're somewhere safe
  • Collection from wherever you've been moved to

Broken down? Stay safe while you wait

  1. Switch on your hazard lights.
  2. On a motorway, leave by the left-hand doors and wait behind the barrier, away from traffic.
  3. If you're on a smart motorway with no hard shoulder and can't reach an emergency area, call 999.
  4. Wear a hi-vis vest if you have one, and don't try repairs next to moving traffic.
